I made it!

It's official: I live in DC!  Got here on Saturday afternoon with my parents.  We moved me into my room and did some exploring before they left on Sunday night.
At first, it was really overwhelming.  The room is pretty small and meeting 14 other people you're living with in a few minutes is crazy.  I sort of freaked out for a while, but after walking around where I'll be working and at the mall in the daylight with my parents, I remembered why I wanted to do this and felt a lot better.  DC is an amazing city.

We all feel like we're in the real world house or something since it's so strange to move into a house with so many people we don't know in a big city.  Our house is in a great location.  We're about 2 blocks from Union Station, which has almost anything you need!  I've been there so many times already.  I will get to walk by the Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and Capitol everyday on the way to work, too.  Everyone in the house is cool so I know it's going to be a blast.

Today we had orientation, tomorrow is a scavenger hunt, and Wednesday we will meet some other DC interns at a reception put on by our housing.  Thursday we all will stop by our offices for courtesy calls, and Friday work begins!  And of course some sightseeing and museums along the way...here we go :] Oh, and it's like legit snowing today!
